Pickens County Schools Operations Department Staff
The Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining school facilities and grounds helping to insure a safe and productive environment that enhances and promotes learning for all students.

in conjunction with the Pickens County Sheriffs Department
Pickens County Board of Education contracts with the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department to provide four School Resource Officers. These SRO’s are based primarily at the middle schools and high school. One SRO is a K-9 Officer accompanied by his police dog.
The primary responsibility of these SRO’s is to maintain the safety and wellbeing of the student population by providing a visible presence at the schools. Other duties include traffic control, security at extracurricular events, random drug searches and assistance with truancy issues.
Food Services Department
The mission of the Pickens County School Nutrition Program is to be a part of the education process by providing students with nutritious meals and nutrition education experiences that promote healthy children who are ready to learn. To learn more about our program – click here.
